Achieving Additional Energy Savings

  1. Powersmiths SMART Integrated Meters are an option on every Powersmiths transformer. They provide energy and power data at a valuable distribution sub-metering point. Data from the SMART Integrated meter can be monitored over the web or can be easily connected to the building’s energy management system. Smart can also supply data to Powersmiths 3D Learning system.

  2. Medium Voltage Dry-Type Transformers are part of every distribution system. There are many benefits from both power quality and energy savings perspectives to replace older less efficient medium voltage transformers with Powersmiths E-Saver™ medium voltage transformers. Powersmiths medium voltage E-Saver transformers provide an attractive payback on energy savings.

  3. Sustained protection from lightning, temporary over-voltages, transients and other disturbances at the entrance to each building is a requirement for all buildings. If left unmanaged, these events can destroy electrical system components and damage connected equipment. Powersmiths STEP (Sustained Total Electrical Protection technology can be integrated into the secondary of medium voltage transformers. They can also be installed on a standalone basis at the building entrance and other key distribution points. Protection can be combined with metering and control features (see Cyberhawk MPC) to ensure that building is protected and electrical system conditions are documented.

  4. Powersmiths Windows on the World™ sustainability information system uses live operating data from Powersmiths high efficiency transformers and other metered systems and translates these energy savings into their associated environmental benefits. Building energy use data is presented through touch screen technology on kiosk displays and/or the organization’s website, allowing the building itself to become a teaching tool.  Powersmiths Windows on the World serves to encourage building occupants to reduce energy consumption while also demonstrating the organization’s commitment to sustainability.
