Fostering a Strong Safety Culture
Safety Week is part of Socomec’s global initiative to reinforce safety practices across all production sites. Building on the success of this year’s event in France, our Brampton facilities joined other Socomec sites in promoting a culture of vigilance and responsibility. Over four days, team members—from floor staff to upper management—participated in training sessions, watched informative videos, and engaged in interactive activities. These efforts focused on identifying potential hazards and brainstorming innovative ways to enhance workplace safety.
Our Safety Framework
One topic we paid particular attention to during our discussions was our “3 Pillars and 10 Safety Attitudes” framework. This framework was developed by Socomec and utilized by Powersmiths to foster a comprehensive approach to workplace safety.
The framework emphasizes:
- Personal Responsibility and Awareness: Each employee is accountable for their safety and that of their colleagues.
- Adherence to Safety Standards: Compliance with established protocols, risk assessments, and the use of mandatory PPE are essential.

Celebrating a Major Safety Milestone
On November 20th, we celebrated a significant milestone for the company, having hit a record number of days without any Lost Time Accidents (LTA) at our facilities. This achievement is a testament to each team member's dedication, vigilance, and commitment to safety. This accomplishment is not just a number; it represents our collective resolve to make safety our paramount priority in every facet of our operations and reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring the well-being of our employees and maintaining a safe work environment.
